We had an awesome weekend. Not sure exactly what made it so spectacular, but it was the perfect mix of activities and downtime, family time and a date night, seeing friends and lots of time to play.
Here are some highlights:
We chuckled over Elsie's 'serious face'. I turned the iphone camera around so that she could see herself on the screen while I took a picture. She was SO interested!

We played and played and played outside, after going for a few walks around the lake too. This was in the middle of the afternoon and Kilen was very late for his nap. Which meant that he needed lots of hugs when things didn't go well.

Once he was convinced that a nap would be a good thing, we were able to rouse him later with a special surprise. We were going bowling!!! and Meaghan and Hayden were coming with us!!! Fun!
Earlier in the week Kilen put his chef skills to the test and made us a fine pizza. (It actually was quite delicious.) He loves being a helper in the kitchen, and now he is able to do a lot to contribute. Kilen is also often in charge of setting the table. Sometimes everyone ends up with 4 spoons, but better more than not enough, right?
Dare I say that we might be figuring this "2 kids" thing out? It might actually appear as thought we've got it under control... just in time for things to get crazy for Christmas, ha ha.
